ABOUT THIS BLOG

In view of the plethora of information competing for our attention these days it is confusing to sort it all out, and this goes for metaphysical, spiritual and philosophical information as well. Many who spout out information do so out of their own agendas to manipulate, confuse, deceive, disrupt and distract, but others are not necessarily aware that they are deceiving, they are just repeating what they have heard. Others may do so our of a need for recognition and a need to be heard. Yet others totally believe they are spreading truth and don't realize they are misguided. But the result is the same. Words form public opinion. Certain words are used with the intention to produce specific results. This is how words seduce in order to persuade the intended recipient toward a particular view. Repeated often enough they become belief. In turn those beliefs are based on nothing other than the re-publication or re-broadcast of lies over and over again. There is no base in fact for these information items and one would be sore pressed to find proper references to back up  said facts. In marketing that is how public opinion is formed. Marketing practices have been known to use mind control techniques to suggest ideas to the subconscious mind. They may tell you  some truth, but they omit the whole truth which makes it a lie. Others may play on your emotions. We are too trusting! Another thing, would you trust Monsanto to tell you the truth about anything with their record of duplicitous practices? What do you know about the people or organizations that feed you information? Not only are we to research the information itself, but also the source of that information. If they have doubtful allegiance with unfavorable groups, what would be their motive in giving such information? Done over prolonged periods of time over and over again world views have been manipulated. In short, in many cases, we have been hypnotized. It has been said, rare is the man who has had an original thought in his whole life.

It is our intention here at Guideposts to Truth to help sort out the muddle. Most people don't have the time or the inclination to properly research what they hear or read. They get caught up in the flurry of information traffic, fall victim to biased, partisan information that catches people unaware because they didn't bother to research what information they were exposed to. This can happen to the best of us. Who has time to research when you might have two or more jobs, a family to feed and look after plus all else that makes up for our busy lives? Believe it or not, that is also part of the manipulation, to keep us so busy, we don't have time to settle down and take time for introspection, but that's another story.

The long and short of it is that it is our responsibility to do our research. If you sign a contract and don't read the small print, you're still responsible for what applies to you. It's the same for the ideas you accept into your belief system. Those unexamined belief systems serve their intended purpose and one case in point is the sorry state our society is in today. We believed what we were taught to believe because our parents, authority figures, and friends believed them. Many of those went unexamined and unquestioned and we took for granted that everything was fine until we woke up one day and it wasn't. Do we want to make those same mistakes again? I, for one, do not. In short, we would only have ourselves to blame.

The blog will be published as material comes up to examine. I will use either items that I find on the internet or trends of information. Questions or suggestions of material are also encouraged in the comment section. References in the form of videos, audio, text will be used to back up the research done on any given subject I decide to work on. I will let you know if I can work on a particular topic you may want to submit as some topics may not be verifiable.  In the end of it all, it is up to you the reader to discern for yourself.

P.S. In submitting a topic you may want to have researched please include your email so I can answer whether it's something I can work on or if I need clarification from you.  Thanks.

GAIA IS MY HEART

A friend asked me what I meant when I said, “Gaia is my    heart.” What is Gaia? To me, Gaia is the word or name for our planet, not just the big piece of rock, but all of the life on it too.

Ever since I can remember I have loved the natural world. Some of my first memories are of wanting to go exploring in the woods. I was lucky to grow up with some animals in my life, and in place where I could get outside and “be one with it,” in a very real sense. My family went camping and hiking and we always lived in places where fairly open, unfenced, unpopulated land was nearby. For me, being out “in nature” was the best part of the day. I felt like I was in the presence of something mysterious and magical.

I always feel close to that “something,” and I feel closest to it when I am “out there” in the natural world. It seems like the only time that I can really be myself is when I am out somewhere, away from what humans have built and the places where we have altered what was originally there.

I also feel very close to animals. It doesn’t really matter what kind of animal. I feel a sense of community with them much more than I do with other people. I say “other people” because I see animals as people, as sentient beings.  The universe has manifested life everywhere. It is irrepressible, abundant, and indomitable. We humans are one life form among many, but from my point of view not necessarily superior.

I say this because of how we treat each other and the other beings that inhabit our planet. Animals mostly suffer in silence, at least to most humans. To me, that suffering comes through loud and clear. I look forward to the day that humans can live in harmony with the other life forms on this planet.  Until that happens, I am not so sure that it is a good idea for us to venture out into space, which I am confident is also filled with life in limitless forms.

Where does all this life originate? That is, to me, what Source is, where all life originates. It is sacred. It is infinite, it is all connected, and yes we are a part of it, not separate from it as most of our religions seem to want us to believe.  So that`s a little about me, and that is why I say that Gaia is my heart.

The Tao is like a well:
used but never used up.
It is like the eternal void:
filled with infinite possibilities

It is hidden but always present.
I don't know who gave birth to it.
It is older than God.”

“Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes, and the grass grows by itself.”

A Zen saying.

“You are not IN the universe, you ARE the universe, an intrinsic part of it. Ultimately you are not a person, but a focal point where the universe is becoming conscious of itself. What an amazing miracle.”

WITHIN

I used to be on a social media website for spiritually minded people where I was introduced to certain phenomena that was sort of new to me in the manner in which it was presented. I had an open mind about aliens and had read sites such as David Icke and David Wilcock, found them interesting and kept an open mind about these issues. What was new to me was the Galactic Federation of Light that most of us are now quite familiar with and their channelled messages. I can't say I go for those much, I find them wispy, unsubstantial, mental and non-fulfilling, saccharine and very much the same from one message to another. But that's my take on it. I respect other peoples' choices and the right to the spiritual path of their choice along with any  consequences that could be involved..

My personal spiritual path involves influences from my Evangelical background as far as spiritual disciplines go along with Gnosticism, Carl Jung, Meister Eckhardt, Buddhism and a smattering of Hinduism, plus a dash of quantum physics and Platonism. I no longer call my self a Christian. Given all that, I do not consider myself a New Age believer nor a Light worker either. I do read Tarot and love real Astrology as well as alternative history and archaeology à la David Wilcock and Michael Tsarion. Along my spiritual path I have learned the benefits of acceptance, forgiveness, patience, being, solitude and much communion with my Higher Self plus other spiritual disciplines. I can't say I meditate, I'm more given to contemplation and I converse with Source and listen. Those years since my awakening in 1984 covered the labor of emotional healing and liberation. I know it's not over, I still run into healing bouts and am still learning.

My spiritual life has been an inward adventure, learning more about Source and about myself and learning to love my solitude. Spirituality is an intimate journey with Oneself. That is the essence of one's growth , then it is externalized in one's relationships and interaction with one's surroundings. In disciplining one's mind to quietness and subduing one's ego, progress is hopefully attained, but usually one step forward and two backward is the norm. Perseverance, commitment and surrender to God are required. Again the focus is on God or one's perception of God. God or Source can be found within.

In my experience the word "within" has been key as has been solitude. There has been a lot of both in my life since embarking on the spiritual path. Not everyone's path is identical. But where authentic spirituality comes in, I think everyone's path is "within"

I see people running to and fro taking spiritual courses here, going to seminars there and that's all good as long as sufficient time is devoted to "within". Time and devotion must be given to develop that relationship with Source. After all, don't we spend time with those we love, some of us can't get enough of that time spent with loved ones. With Source it's the same thing. Even with main stream religion and all it's faults, one thing some nuns and friars of renown were known for is their devotion. Reading their writings of devotion just sends you to the heights of bliss and you can be high for hours. They were so in love with God. We have to have the same attitude as they did, that of absolute devotion. Maybe not in the same way because many of us have done away with the trappings of religion, but do we have the same fervour they did vis a vis our relationship with our Source? I used to devour those books, Theresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Meister Eckhardt, Jeanne Guyon. This is the cult of the heart, using cult for lack of a better word, disregarding it's less favourable connotations. They were my models for my spiritual life and on the protestant side I used to enjoy Andrew Murray. Talk about devotion. This type of spirituality leads to a very rich life, very full of the presence of God that nothing else can satisfy. When you have tasted that communion with Source ,you ask for discernment and you will receive it. As a matter of fact anything you ask for in God's will you will receive, all my prayers were answered as they are today with few exceptions. All prayers are answered, yes, no and wait. The difference is today, they are answered faster. You will know what is false and what is truth. Truth is absolute, there is no, "what is good for one may not be for another", not where the Divine is concerned. When you've tasted from the Well of Living Water, you will not go to any other well, trust me. You will know your Source and where to find it. WITHIN.
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matt. 6:33

I've come across some information over the past couple of days that has confirmed to me what my Higher Self has been telling me over the past while. These videos below present a different perspective on subject matter we have been hearing a lot about lately. Chris Thomas does not get his information from chanelling, but rather has access to the Akashic Records. What he has to say, I feel is very pertinent to what we are living today and his message is important to us all. Please feel free to leave your comments in the section provided and please remember to respect the views and opinions of others in treating others the way you would like to be treated. Thank you, Namasté
